Meet the Team

Hi, I'm Annette, I'm an occupational therapist, Director of Communicate 2U, and a researcher specialising in using creative methods. I have written and co-produced a book with Communicate 2U called 'Rethinking communication in health & social care'. I started Communicate 2U in 2010. 

 

My super-strength is being motivated to change the world to make it a better place for people who find words hard, and my biggest challenge is remembering people's names!

Hi I'm Dan, I am a Director of Communicate 2U and lead occupational therapist at Selly Oak Trust School.

I manage the supported internship programme collaborating with our job coaches and occupational therapists to plan sessions and find work placements. I also help younger students at Selly Oak Trust School to develop their life skills and work skills for the future.

My super-strength is remaining calm and creating amazing flow-charts. My biggest challenge is not creating too many flow-charts. 

Hi, I'm Sarah I've been a Job Coach with Communicate 2U since 2016. My background is in performing arts, particularly music and drama with a BA (Hons) Drama & Performance. My previous experience is in project co-ordination, arts administration and marketing. 

 

My super-strength is being creative and my biggest challenge is not eating too much chocolate and colour-coding everything. 

Hi I'm Leanne, I have been working with Communicate 2U since 2019 as an occupational therapist.

I have previously worked on the internship programme but I am now based at Selly Oak Trust School supporting students with SEN and parent carers to access their education and giving staff the skills and advice they need to support their learners. 

​

My super-strength is my passion for helping others and my biggest challenge is 'saying no' to anyone. 

Hi, I'm Amie, I have been a job coach with Communicate 2U since 2021. My background is in performing arts, as well as supporting young people to access education when they are facing additional challenges and barriers. 

 

My super-strength is being calm and helping others and my biggest challenge not having too much coffee.

Hi I'm Maisie and I'm an occupational therapist, with a background in criminology and social justice.

My super strength is seeing the able not the label. My biggest challenge is trying to find the off button for my busy brain. 

Hi, I'm Kariss, I have worked with Communicate 2U   as an occupational therapist since 2023 with a specialist area of interest in children and young peoples development. I also have a degree in psychology.

 

My super-strength is being positive and my biggest challenge is not spending all my money on trainers.
